The
project originally planned to train 240-460 community health workers (CHWS)
and traditional Birth attendants (TBA). This target has been more
than doubled. To date 20 CHWS and TBAs have been trained and most of them
are active and this has been possible for our collaboration with Lubaga
Hospital. these volunteers have contributed significantly to child
immunization, nutrition and family hygiene as well as material health in
general.
Many grieving children have been supported to come to terms with their
experiences. Hundreds of people with AIDS (PWDs) and HIV individuals have
received critical advice and support. Drama, women debates, poetry and
School children's competition are among the channels being used to
deserminate AIDS messages.
